Using truecrypt into hd and sharepoint server RRS feed

  • I try to install the sharepoint server into crypt hd, when the server automount the hd, the database fail and cant index 

    Anyone happened the same ?

  • I believe that truecrypt requires a user password to mount a drive everytime the machine restarts.  You could set it to mount automatically as I believe it can do that , but it probably needs a user profile (essentially a desktop) to do that and MOSS runs as a server process - no desktop.  Also, encrypting the disk could well make MOSS run really badly even if you could get it working.

    If you want encryption, you should look at the encryption options out of the box with SQL2008.
