Identify AD user that triggered a SQL Server job RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI, is there a way to retreivethe user that started the job. I don`t want the proxy that ran the job, only the AD user that right-clicked the job and clicked on started job at step from the contextual menu.

    Thanks,

Answers

  • You turn on Audits on sp_start_job (stored procedure in MSDB)

Sample blog entry that audits create, delete jobs:
