Can't install .Net framework 3.5 RRS feed

I downloaded .Net framework 3.5.1 sp1 on windows server 2008 R2, 64 bit OS and every time i run the exe file i got an error message

"You must use the Role Management Tool to install or configure Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1" .

I started the Server Manager selecting the Features node and "Add Features" and enabled .net framework features but the error still occurred.

    Hello,

If you have already enabled .NET framework version 3.5 SP1 from Role management, then there is no need to run the downloaded exe file. Now you should have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in your machine.

Also, this is not the best place to ask about .NET framework installations. Please use the following forum for that

This is because Windows 2008 R2 ships with the .NET 3.5.1 framework. You just need to enable the feature from Server Manager .
