Not able to view clear image on projector with same aspect ratio as that of surface tab(4:3) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have developed an app on windows surface tab 8.1 (c#), where we have categories as heading and images beneath that in each section. We have variable sized wrap grid to display images inside. The problem we are facing is, when we do projection of this app on projector(same resolution 1024*768 and aspect ratio 4:3 as that of tablet), images are getting blurred on projector.

Is there any solution which we can implement programmatically to increase quality of image rather than getting high quality images from server?

  • No Surface tablet has a resolution of 1024*768. What exact tablet/model are you using? Surface and Surface 2 both have 16:9 ratio and either 1920x1080 or 1366x768 (Surface RT 1). Surface 3 has 2160x1440 HD+.

None of those has 4:3 ratio.

So if your projector is set to 1024*768 you are probably squashing the Surface's output. Windows Store apps should seamlessly scale to the output resolution unless you have set the tablet or projector to prevent this.

  • Actually we are running this app on simulator with resolution 1024*768 and aspect ratio 4:3 because images are getting shown blurred on projector (with resolution 1024*768 and aspect ratio 4:3) which are getting displayed properly on tablet.
