Write protection for partition C: / RRS feed

All replies

  • Hi,

I'm afraid we cannot or should not make C drive write-protected. Remember C drive is a Windows-installed drive. If we can do it, we cannot use Windows. I'm wondering why you want to do it.

  • Protect it from what? From the system using it?

  • Hi Wandal11,

    Thank you for posting here.

If you want to set write protection on disk, you could try to use command prompt. But, I test on C:/, it does not work. You could try the command on other disk except c:/.

    1. diskpart.

    2. list disk

    3. select disk 0

    4. attribute disk set readonly // enable write protection

    5. attribute disk clear readonly // disable write protection

    Best Regards,

    Wendy
