Error in Loading Desginer of windows app 8.1 in VS2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Developing Windows Apps 8.1 or Windows Phone App 8.1 apps are totally new to me. I created a demo Windows Desktop App project in visual studio 2013. After creating, i cannot see my apps designer view. It throws me an exception.

If i try running my app in Local Machine mode or Simulator Mode, it gives me an error.

What am i missing. ? please help me.

  • Nope. Doesn't works. But when i run in `Localmachine mode`, my second error changes to......               'Unable to activate windows store app '36ds-dfdsvd-sdfdfsd sdf-!app'.                                                            A microsoft windows component is not correctly registered. If the problem persists, try repairing  your  windows installation, or reinstalling windows.'

  • Hi harishn007,

Please try to close and reopen your Visual Studio, then create a simple Windows 8.1/Windows Phone 8.1 app to see if it works.

If it can not work, please try to upgrade your visual studio to the latest version: Update 4 and try it again.

    #Download Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Update 4: .

  • You are trying to open App.xaml in the designer view, which isn't possible. App.xaml isn't a page and is more for app configuration purposes. You can open MainPage.xaml in the designer.
