Sharing Document with Multiple People RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I share a document from a SharePoint library and select the 'Send an email invitation' check box, the email that the recipient receives does not show who else it was shared with.  This means that each recipient believes that they are the only recipient and no-one else has seen it.

Is there a way for the email to show all the recipients in the To/cc box as with other emails?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

This is by design action, but you could add description so user would know he/she is not only the person, and you could even add the users to description.

  • Thank you for the quick reply. Yes I had thought about using the description box but just wondered if there was another way.  Also, do you know if the description box template can be amended to include something like:

    To:
    Cc:
    Subject:

  • Hi,

The share page is system page so it’s not suggest to do customization directly as it may update by feature CU/upgrade.

    _layouts/15/aclinv.aspx

If you do need this customization, you could check below jQuery & http module solution for reference.

    1. Hide the send email checkbox by jQuery
    2. Crete http module to monitor http request about aclinv.aspx(or even check the url is for specific list like: aclinv.aspx?forSharing=1&List=%7B6AC18AF0%2DFC8D%2D43CD%2DBF12%2D28203A995DB3%7D)
    3. Implement your own send email logic there.
