Site migration from one site collection to another site collection

Hi,

I'm sorry i cannot find any available resource on this matter.

in my environment, we have different content DB for different site collection, e.g. site collection department A has a content DB A.

Now there is a need to move a site from site collection A to site collection B. Can i simply use the stsadm export/import or backup/restore function? I read somewhere that workflows and alert settings will not be backup and restored?

In my case, I use STSADM - backup and restore, and it did the job. And if it is in the same domain, there will be very less chance of producing errors. Hi,

Your need : move a site from site collection A to site collection B.
