How do I get sample apps to work? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I cannot run the Office App sample files, except for created text samples using only XML Manifest, javascript, HTML and CSS. Our SharePoint Administrator has looked at this and also cannot figure out what is going on. She set up a Developer site, as we have an "E3" Office 365/SharePoint Online account. She has set my permissions to "Admin." She can run the sample apps that link to the developer site and she can see the apps I've created and/or tested. However, I cannot run sample apps (for example, see "How to: Create your first task pane app by using "Napa" Office 365 Development Tools") successfully without getting an "App Error" or nothing happens. Earlier, I had run one or two example apps.

Confusion with two accounts? If I sign on with my Office 365 / SharePoint online account, I can get to the developer site and view my files, add files, etc. but cannot successfully run any of them. Sample apps ask for me to login to my Developer Account. They should be the same. At one time I had started to sign up for an online trial account. I'm wondering if there may be confusion between the online trial account and my developer account...is this possible? If this is the problem, how can I resolve this issue?

Additional information that may be relevant:

    • I have signed on using another computer and it still doesn't work.
    • Using IE 10.0.9200.16618
    • The Pop-up Blocker has been turned off. NAPA seems to run fine--I have been able to use it but still haven't built an app that will run.
    • The IE cache has been cleared several times.

  • Hi there just replied back on the other forum thread about this issue.

Can you try using the two logins across inprive and regular modes. Alternatively you could also try it with a different browser.

Lastly if you are still having an issue could you try to run the app again and when it fails use the send feedback mechanism to send us a message.

    Thanks
