  • Question

  • Hi to all.

If I open a message and click the "Reply" function the reply event fires.  If I just select the message (inspector level) and click the Reply (at the top in the respond group) the reply event does not fire?  I do fire a newinspector event in both cases which sets up my reply event but case 2 does not fire the reply event.  I also have the "currentitem" in case 2 for I use the myexplr.selection.item(1) to provide such; this is all working - just no reply event in case 2.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Respectfully,

    Gordon Haas

  • If you just select a messaage in an Explorer, NewInspector event does not fire.

What you need to do is trap the Explorer.SelectionChange event, hook the events on all the items in the Explorer.Selection collection. When you click Reply, the event will fire on one of the selected messages.

  • NewInspector will fire as a consequence of the new (reply) message beign displayed.

The Reply even on the selected item will fire before that.

  • Thanks Dmitry for your response.

Perhaps I am not stating the sequence correctly.  When I select the message (highlight it only) and then click the Reply function located in the "Respond Group" the newinspector event fires.  I have a msgbox at the start of the event to confirm this.  Following the newinspector event the associated inspector_activate event fires next.  I have setup the Explorer.Selectionchange event and it fires as soon as I select the message (I am not doing anything with it however).  And again when I then click the "Reply" function the newinspector event fires!
