Stepping into Oracle stored procedures RRS feed

I have an ASP.NET application that uses an Oracle backend. I want to be able to step into the Oracle packages and stored procedures during debugging.

Is this possible and if so what toolset would be needed? Thanks.

It is such a pain the *** to setup PL/SQL for debugging from within Oracle,

I have moved all my old PL/SQL into VB.NET and CS.NET with ODP.NET.

I get greater flexibility and speed in doing business processes on variables woth .NET, and the .NET SQL statements run faster than PL/SQL.

Good bye PL/SQL.  Life is so much better in Code Behind Form/Page without PL/SQL.

I've found that PL/SQL Developer from AllAroundAutomations has great PL/SQL debugging capabilities. I've never tied it into an application debug though. But as long as you know the parameter values you want to test, it's a good tool to have.

Good to know the SQL Developer removes some of the pain setting up debugging for PL/SQL, but of course does not solve the forum problem.
