SDF database - Create table error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have connected sdf database through SQL server management studio.

I want to execute a simple query as,

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[user]( [user_id] [int] NOT NULL)

While executing the same through Query pane, it gives error as,

    <>

Major Error 0x80040E14, Minor Error 26100

    > CREATE TABLE [dbo].[user]( [user_id] [int] NOT NULL)

The table name is not valid. [ Token line number (if known) = 1,Token line offset (if known) = 22,Table name = user ]

    <>

    Any pointers?

    Thanks,

    Shailesh.

  • I believe the problem is that SQL CE does not accept the [dbo] prefix on your table name.

  • Try this:

CREATE TABLE user (user_id int NOT NULL)

  • Hi João,

    Your statement is valid.

However, I am trying to execute a script generated by SQL server 2005 and i need to create a schema from the same on SDF DB on pocket PC.

The syntax and data type seems to be the issue.

    Thanks,

    Shailesh.

  • That means I can NOT export script from SQL Server and need to create the table script for SDF by hand.

    Thanks,

    Shailesh.
