WEC7 and Kiosk Mode - performance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone

Does anyone know the benefits regarding memory and performance from running in Kiosk Mode compared to Windows Shell on WEC7?

Is there much to be gained?

    Regards

  • Performance is not the reason to run Kiosk mode.  Not running the shell will free up a little RAM and burn a few less CPU cycles, but that is minor.

    Run in Kiosk mode because:

    • You don't want the desktop to show, ever
    • You don't want users to accidentally get to the desktop
    • You don't want users to maliciously get to the desktop
    • You want to be fully in control of the user experience
