.NET CORE Executable error for published console application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a .NET Core 3 console application that I published to a folder using VS 2019 (desktop has Windows 10 Enterprise version).  I copied the folder to another computer (with OS Windows 10 Professional).  The computer doesn't have VS 2019 installed on it.  When I run the executable from it, I get this error:

"A fatal error occurred. The required library hostfxr.dll could not be found.  If this is a self-contained application, that library should exist in [C:\MLD50\MLD50_Publish\]."

This is a self-contained application (at least, that's what I intended for it to be).  However, the hostfxr.dll is not found in that directory.

    How do I fix this?

    Appreciate any help.
