Can't create an instance - no storage account available RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

i am attempting to create an instance of scheduler but i am unable to select my storage account.

I have followed the following steps:

    1) selected new

    2) searched for scheduler and clicked create

    3) entered name

    4) created new job collection using existing resource group in UK south region and default S Standard pricing tier

    5) specify action settings as storage queue and clicked configure for storage account

    I then see the error:

No storage accounts found in the selected subscription and location.

I can see the following exceptions within the console window:

  • Hi David, Scheduler currently only supports classic storage account in the picker, you will need to use PowerShell/SDK to use ARM storage account.

May I suggest checking out Logic Apps? It support the same scheduling capability as Scheduler, but the visual designer makes it much easier to add actions, plus  both types of storage accounts are supported.

    Thanks,

    Derek

  • Hi Derek,

    Thanks for the explanation.

I've quickly looked into logic apps but the thought of having non source controlled items running in the cloud puts me off.

I've since spotted that web jobs are now associated with app services, which can be scheduled.

So I think I will try this approach first and then look into logic apps if web jobs don't fit my needs.

    Thanks,

    Dave
