real-time multi-player gaming using Silverlight RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I wonder if anyone could tell me if real-time multi-player gaming using Silverlight is possible?
I'm thinking along the lines of an authoritative server running, where all clients (the gamers) are remotely connecting from a silverlight client.
    Something like Quake Live:

Or is Silverlight not quite there yet?
    Many thanks

  • Silverlight can certainly support the necessary communications for a real-time multiplayer game (it supports UDP and sockets).  Whether or not it can support the graphics quality you require is another issue (much less so with Silverlight 5, when it's released).
