Windows Server 2008 issue not starting our application service when booting up after a failover scenario. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a product running on Windows Server 2008 R2 within a VMWare ESX 5.0 environment.

During a fail over scenario the VMware blades are switched and the second VMWare blade loads the image from the first blade.  Windows 2008 server starts up and fails to start one of our application services in our product. Manually starting the service works fine.

Does anyone know why this happens?   Any hints would be helpful.    Thanks,

Looking at the system event log we find:

Error 1/27/2012 11:01:49 AM Service Control Manager 7009 None

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the ShoreWare Client Application Service service to connect.

Error 1/27/2012 11:01:49 AM Service Control Manager 7000 None

The ShoreWare Client Application Service service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
