Running Virtual PC 2007 on Windows Server 2003 SP2 Virtual Machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a virtual PC installed on my laptop, but find that it runs slow and its a pain to use because I am connecting over VPN, so when I have to use the Virtual PC, I have to disconnect from VPN so that the Virtual PC can establish the network connection.  SO, I am trying to move this Virtual PC over to a Virtual Machine that we use for development.  I copied my vhd and vmc files to the virtual Machine and installed Virtual PC 2007.

When I try to start my Virtual PC, it goes through the motions for a little while (and it is even slower than it was on my laptop).  Before it ever gets up, the Virtual Machine crashes.

Is it even possible to run Virtual PC on the Virtual Machine?  If so, are there special settings, etc that I need to be aware of to make this run properly?  The Virtual Machine has 4 GIG of memory and I allocated about 2500 MB to my virtual PC.

I'm not sure what to try now...  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
