  • Hi Experts,

    What is the typical use case of IO queue and Work queue in the WDF and which is more preferred ?

  • The I/O queue holds (not surprisingly) I/O requests, while the work queue holds callback requests that are called back by a worker thread at IRQL 0. As to which is preferred, they are not fungible; they are used for completely different things.
