HTTPWebRequest - How to disable retry on RST? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

The question is the same as the one asked five years ago:

[and I cannot post link here .. ]

HttpWebRequest retries the query on some cases automatically, and if both of such queries reach server, things can go bad.

Is there any way to avoid such behavior?

    regards,

    k

  • Hi kaido,

So far the HttpWebRequest class hasn't much updated since the previous .NET Framework version and the supported properties haven't included any options for control the behavior on receving RST response. Also, for RST response, I think it's more specific to the TCP protocol layer while the HttpWebRequest just an encapsulated class for handling request/response processing at HTTP layer, therefore, the control over lower layer protocol is quite restricted.
