I have a question about the SDK kinect.

  • The Kinect for Windows runtime, drivers and core applicaiton calling the api's would have to be run on the pc with the device connected. It would all depend on what you want to do "in the cloud".

If you are looking to do some post processing and time is not a factor it might be possible. Understand the amount of data that is going to be passed is not small. One frame will happen ~1/30th of a second. For the default settings, the amount of data for one color frame is 640x480x4=1228800 bytes and one typical depth frame is 640x480x2=614400 bytes. Some creative compression and high-speed connections for the Internet would be needed to pass this data efficiently.

  •  thank you Carmine for your reply,

my goal is to allow the user to use the kinect by connecting to a remote server (in the cloud) so the  sdk will be installed in this server.

    Can I do this?
