Generating and using a test certificate on Windows 7 64 bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a KMDF driver which I want to test on a win 7 64 bit.

I have the driver working OK on:

    Win8.1 32 bit,

    Win8.1 64 bit,

    and Win 7 32 bit.

I generate a cat file for the driver (the inf points to it).

I sign it using Verisign signature and my company password . Certificate is valid .

On the target machine I imported the certificate to "Trusted publishers" and "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" on the local computer ( when I open the Certificate snap-in I see my certificate)

But still, when I try to install the driver it complains about the signature ( Code 52 ).

This is before WHCK tests so the driver is not actually signed by MS.

Somehow the Digital Signer says: "Not digitally signed" no matter what I do, though the cat is there and is valid.

How can I debug this issue?

    Thanks,
