Admin protected folder

Hi,

I have a folder on my website that is only for my administrative purpose, is there some easy way to password protect him?

I saw a few web.config solutions but I did not understand them. 

Since I have my own server currently I am using IIS Basic authorization but I do not believe that is a good solution

As I understand, you've configured IIS to password protect a folder using Basic Authentication.  

What is wrong with the current solution?  Is the Admin folder part of a web application?  if so, what kind of Web Application Web Forms, MVC?  What kind of security solution are you looking for?  Maybe the built-in ASP.NET Identity.

If you have folder that is access by website then you can secure it with Auth/Auth scheme which you are using in your web application, If folder is not using by web application then you can store it some where else outside of web application that is not accessible by any website user.

Website application security and windows folder security are two different subject, there are several application available to secure your windows folder.
