Registration of Windows 2008 R2 physical server to azure recovery site problem RRS feed

  • Please help can't register my windows 2008 r2 to azure recovery site using the downloaded credential 

    - I'm trying to setup site recovery for on premise machine running windows 2008 r2

    - set up to protection goal on premise to azure and choosing not virtualized

    - download the vault registration key 

    - and setup the site recovery unified setup on Windows 2008 R2 server 

    upon picking the downloaded reg file message below appear;

    "if the key is not working download a new registration key .. from site recovery portal"

    - done several times of downloading the reg. key and same message appear.

  • I recommend you create a technical support ticket. The ticket enables you to work closely with the support engineers and get a quick resolution to your issue.

  • It appears that you are not following directions provided at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/tutorial-physical-to-azure

    Have you set up the configuration server?

  • I had this same error.

    I got fix it by downloading the vault registration key directly from Getting Started section on the Azure Portal as following below:

    Under the Getting Started Section, click on Site Recovery;

    Next, click on Prepare Infrastructure;

    In the step 3 (Source), Click on Add Configuration Server;

    In the Add Server Section, click on Download button in the step 4 (Download the vault registration key);
