Kinect Region in Windows Store app flaky RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi team,

I have noticed that Kinect region doesn't work consistently in Windows Store app, what I mean is if the Windows store app starts in a small laptop screen with everything working fine but if I move to a larger screen it can't detect my hands anymore, though I can still see myself in the Kinectviewer.

Also it works after several restarts of this app.

Is this inconsistency due to the support still in preview? If yes, then is there a planned update coming soon?

  • Can you provide more detail on the scenario you are seeing? Does the WPF sample behavior differ greatly in the same scenario?

The namespace has nothing to do with functionality. Instability issues with Interactions has more to do with the sensor setup. Is the sensor mounts 6 feet above the ground and angled down to see it without obstruction? This angle provides the optimal angle to see the shoulder, elbow and hand joints that are used for the tracking state. If the sensor is directly pointed at the user, you generate more occlusions which can make things jumpier.

There is another thread where we were discussing that the wrong body was getting tracked, is the user viewer showing that it is locking onto you?
