Lync Web Api + Windows Store App RRS feed

  • Question

  • The official Lync 2013 SDK is only compatible with Windows desktop apps, but is it possible to use the Lync Web API inside a Windows Store App to communicate (chat) with other Lync-clients?

  • I'm not familiar with the Lync API, but if it is exposed as a web service then you should be able to call it from a Windows Store app.

  • Perhaps, but the documentation says "Web applications that interact with UCWA resources require a cross-domain iframe for all HTTP requests sent to UCWA.", and I dont want to place everything inside a big webcontrol or something. So I'm not sure if its realistic or not to try to use this "Lync Web Api" inside a C# Windows Store app or not, and I cant find any examples for doing so.

  • So that sounds like it isn't a web service API.

You may want to ask the folks in the Unified Communications, Lync Server forums about their requirements.
