Expression Blend 2.5 (March) is EATING MY LUNCH!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here's the config:
    Windows Vista Business edition
.Net Framework 3.5 (Made sure .Net Framework 3.0 is uninstalled)
    Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition
    Silverlight 2.0
    Silverlight Tools
Expression Blend 2.5 March Preview Edition

I have this same config on several different computers.

EVERY time I try to start Expression blend two things happen:
    1) A popup says "Microsoft Expression Blend has stopped working"
    2) If I try to run Blend.exe /ExceptionLog from the command prompt no log comes up.

This is very consistent on all machines.

    Any ideas?
What is the correct installation order for these products? I am I holding my mouth wrong? Should I shout "Supercalifragileisticexpialidocious" when I try to launch Expression Blend? This is FRUSTRATING! I want to see how cool Silverlight projects are when developed in Blend, but I can't get the VS2008/Blend combo to run.

  • Some questions:

    a) Did you have a previous version of Blend installed on this machine?
    b) Can you run any WPF application on this machine? For example, can you bring up the WPF designer in VS 2008 when you create a new WPF project and drag and drop a button inside it?

    Thanks,
