Mirroring clustered SQL 2008 Databse RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I try to established a mirror between to clustered SQL 2008 Server. I have installed a copy and the transcation-protocol of the database on the target-cluster.

But when i try to start the mirroring I get always a error-message, that the mirror-endpoint on the source-server dont exist or is not reachable (error 1418).

I checked teh endpoint, it exist and is online. Also i can connect the endpoint with  "telnet servername 5022". The fireall on the server is disabled. I use a domain-administrator-account for mirorring, so it should not be a permission-problem.

    Anyone an idea?

  • Error 1418 may be erroneous and can be many different things - Account can be mis-configured, Endpoints may have failed, network is no longer available.  Here is a great link to an MSDN article on how to troubleshoot the specific error.
