Issues logging in RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am new to installing and configuring Reporting Services. I installed SQL 2008 r2 (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) but I cannot see reporting services when I try to log in using SSMS. I select Server Type: Reporting Services and nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

  • Hello Sathya,

The issue that I am having is that I cannot open SSRS in SSMS. I could do this as a test, but this is not my issue. SSAS, SSIS, and the SQL DB installed fine and I can access it through SSMS.

    Thanks

  • Sathya,

When I am in SSMS, what is the actual server name supposed to be? Is it the name of the server that SQL 2008 was installed on or the name of the actual reporting server?

Thank you kindly for your help :)

In Run -> type Services.msc - > double-click on SQL Server Reporting Services ,you will get screen as shown below

                  Server Type    : Reporting Services

Server Name  : PC Name\Instance name

                  Authentication : Windows Authentication
