ssisdb 2016 deploy package while project is executing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've notice that when you deploy a package while the project is executing, the project will not execute the deployed version of the package when it comes time to execute this package, but it will execute the old version.

is there anyway to change this?

we have a very long running project with many packages and it's common we might need a quick change in one of the packages during execution (the package we deploy is never executing, it's always one of the pending packages)

we would like these changes to take effect during the current project execution, rather than wait until the complete next project execution.

    is this possible?

  • Hi kiwiNspain,

I do not think this is possible because it'll break the integrity of the executing project by writing changes in the middle of the process.

And I am glad such a safety net exists, otherwise it may cause unpredictable data corruptions and transient bugs.
