Azure Web Application Proxy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Could someone please clarify the cost of web application proxy? Will there be any impact to consumption by utilising this service? IE: When I publish an on premise site via web application proxy, will there be any charges for the users accessing the content or is this included with the licensing?

  • Hi Stavross, Happy to help but need clarification on what you mean by "web application proxy". Are you talking about Azure Active directory Proxy? Any reference you can share will also help so I can help you with the billing /pricing details.

  • Hi Femisulu,

I mean azure web app proxy, referenced here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/manage-apps/application-proxy), I am looking to publish an on premise application to my users. Basically I am setting up SharePoint hybrid (o365 and SP on prem 2016),  I was told I need to use web app proxy as part of the setup. I am seeking to find out if web application proxy impacts azure consumption cost? I was told there is no impact but I want to double check.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Hi Stavross, There shouldn’t be any additional cost on consumption as long as you purchase Basic, Premium P1 and Premium P2 – details below.

    Pricing details

Azure Active Directory comes in four editions—Free, Basic, Premium P1, and Premium P2. The Free edition is included with an Azure subscription. The Basic and Premium editions are available through a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, the Open Volume License Program, and the Cloud Solution Providers program. Azure and Office 365 subscribers can also buy Azure Active Directory Basic and Premium P1 and P2 online. Sign in here to purchase.

  • Thanks for your reply, just to clarify - its included in the following different license types basic, p1, p2 or p3? I am licensed for basic, so I should be fine to deploy with no additional costs.
