What is the SQL Server version your are using. Integration with SQL Compact is not yet available (check the readme)

I am using 2008 version of SQL as mentioned in the title itself. version no- 9.0.30729.1 SP (and .net framework 3.5 SP1)
I don't think its compatibility issue because using reporting services 2008 am able to do all tasks i.e. authoring, managing, deploying reports etc.
Any idea for above error?
-Thanks,

Are you having a side by side installation of 2005 and 2008. If so, check this article : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2216460/

Has anyone else idea about it?
Vinu, I am not installing SQL on my machine. If you look at my original post, I am getting this error while dealing with Data Source View wizard within SSAS.
Thanks,

I have read your mail properly and I am trying to figure out some minor details that may have affected the installation. Well i have not faced this issue personally and am tying to help you out in figuring out the issue
1) The post mentions ssas 2008, but underneath the ssas as there is sql, sometime the version of sql might matter. There is no mention about the version of sql in the post. hence the question
2) I am aware that you are getting error in data source view. Some articles suggested that side by side installation of SQL 2005 and sql 2008 in the same box can cause this issue or the config file for some reason might have the wrong reference of the assembly. Hence the question. Well also there could be issue with the OLAP provider. you can also check whether you have installed the providers required by ssas to connect to db is installed properly.
This is not an ideal case. A proper installation should not give you this error.
May be someone who has faced the issue can give a faster resolution

Hi Vinu,
I actually have got the install "developer edition" from Microsoft's dreamspark site for sql 2008. So you think it should be the issue as this edition might lack some of features/tools to run the SSAS solution. Because, reporting services is running fine with this install without any issue.
Thanks,

Did you install service pack on 2008? It usually fix this problem.
