Building 4.5.2 applications on Windows 2012 R2 Core RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everybody,

I am trying to create a build machine running Windows 2012 R2 Core. I have installed Visual Studio 2013 and the 4.5.2 Framework seems to be installed correctly.
When I try compiling my solutions though all my builds fail: Visual Studio is asking me to re-target my projects choosing 4.5 instead of 4.5.2. Then if I do re-target the build works fine.

Is anyone aware of any compatibility issue between Windows 2012 R2 Core and .NET 4.5.2?

Thank you very much for the time spent reading my post

When you look at the list of available .NET Framework versions in your project properties, does 4.5.2 show?

You can check your .NET 4.5.2 installation with this:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx

Run the tool with .NET 4.5.2 selected, then post the first 20 lines AND the LAST 15 lines of the tool log here. The last few lines of the log tell you the test app result. If the return code = 0, your .NET Framework is OK.

To repair, as far as I know, you have to insert your OS CD and repair your OS.

As WS 2012 R2 comes with .NET 4.5.1 as part of the OS, you must have installed 4.5.2 yourself, right? If, by any chance, you installed 4.5.2 before installing VS 2013, you can repair your VS installation then see if 4.5.2 works.
