Does the Remote Desktop application require a license? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning

This question has come up to us that we are required to have a license to use the remote desktop application.  This application is used to remote from one computer to another within our organization.  We have used it also for remoting into a virtual computers on our VSphere platform.  Each of these computers have thier own Windows OS (XP, W7).

I have found informtation on this concerning Terminal Services, but we are not using this function.  Can you help clarify this misunderstanding.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

are you talking about the 'Remote Desktop Application' which is shipped with the Windows operating system? If so, it is part of Windows so you only need a Windows license and then you can use it like you want.
