How does one find hidden roomlists ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Folks,

    I am using EWS 2010 to locate all of the RoomLists on an exchange 2010 server using a call to GetRoomLists().  This appears to be working fine with the exception that it does not return room lists that have been marked as hidden.

    Since these are the ones that I actually need to work with, does anyone have a method that can allow me to get a list of these items. I just need the EmailAddress of the room list so that I can query the rooms contained (I guess I might need to know if the list is hidden or not as well).

    Regards

    Andy

  • I found that there was a field

    msExchHideFromAddressLists=TRUE

    This is true when the room list is hidden.

  • Just an update:-

    It appears that room lists are distribution groups, so I can search A/D to find a list of distribution groups.  However, I am still unable to determine how to check that it is a room list  (I am wondering if the property msExchRecipientTypeDetails has an appropriate value),  and how one determines that the list is hidden or visible?
