Where is Hello World web.config file RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am just starting off with Microsoft Health Vault. I am trying to complete the hello world tutorial at this location: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/healthvault/bb898801.aspx

    However it says that I need to check in my web.config file that I have the following:

    <add key="WCPage_ActionHome" value="default.aspx"/>
    <add key="WCPage_ActionAppAuthSuccess" value="default.aspx"/>
    <add key="WCPage_ActionSignOut" value="SignedOut.aspx" />

    It also says that: "Rather than including [the web.config file] here, we recommend that you get them from one of the SDK examples (perhaps the HelloWorld one, if it is there).  After you copy it over, find the section where that looks like this:"

    So where do I get the web.config files. I am doing the Hello World Tutorial!!! I would have thought it would be at the most basic level... Like not assume that I know where anything is.

    Please Help !

    Thanks!!!

  • Here are the steps you could follow to get Hello World application to work

    Go here by and click the "Download HealthVault SDK" link

    Install the SDK.

    Assuming you installed in default location,  Open the Hello world project from the following location in VS.Net

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft HealthVault\SDK\DotNet\WebSamples\HelloWorld

    Install the Hello world application certificate  (at the Cert folder) to the Local Computer's certificate store  by running the appropriate .bat file in the same folder

    Run the project. You should be good to go.

    You may then want to create your own application id as explained in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/healthvault/bb898878.aspx  for developing your HealthVault application.

  • Hi,

    It looks like you have successfully installed the .pfx file for HelloWorld sample and now you may please continue to run the application. If you are facing any issues while running the application please let us know and you dont have to worry about the batch files over there. Thank you.

    You can find the web.config file for HelloWorld sample from the following folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft HealthVault\SDK\DotNet\WebSamples\HelloWorldCertStore\website

    I recommend Eric's tutorial http://blogs.msdn.com/ericgu/archive/2009/01/08/introduction-to-healthvault-development-1-introduction.aspx which is really helpful for all HealthVault beginners.

  • I went to this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft HealthVault\SDK\DotNet\WebSamples\HelloWorldCertStore\cert and Double clicked this file HelloWorld-SDK_ID-05a059c9-c309-46af-9b86-b06d42510550. I followed the directions and it says import successfull... Is this what I was supposed to do? I looked for a .bat file but the only two in this location are for windows xp and 2003... i'm running vista x64 (is this a problem?)

    Thanks for your help!
