ConnectionState enum question RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the documentation for the ConnectionState enum (SqlClient), the entries for members Executing and Fetching say "This value is reserved for future versions of the product."

Does that still hold true?  If not, for wat versions of the framework?

If it does: is there a property of a SqlConnection that I could safely use to set a flag of my own to keep track of what it is currently doing? The class not inheritable, or I would add my own 'Tag' property. A string value would be perfect, but numeric will do too.

  • After looking at all properties, the second part seems to be "no".

I could have tried to see if Executing and Fetching are ever set, but instead I circumvented it by creating a wrapper class that combines the functionality of SqlCommand and SqlConnection in a single object.
