  • 1. What difference is between WDS, Indexing Service and Enterpise Search products?
    2. Does WDS support freetext queries for the non-English languages, for example, Russian? Where I can read more about?
    3. Does WDS support OLE DB query provider? Where i can read about it's query syntax?
    4. Does WDS support searching by forms of words, will it find text containing 'suboptimal querying' for freetext query 'optimal queries'?
    5. Does WDS index contents of .zip archives?
    6. Does WDS allow to configure indexing priority and sets of properties which would be indexed, as Indexing Service does?

  • 1.) WDS is the new client side indexing engine. Indexing Service is the old content indexing engine that initially shipped with Windows 2000. Enterprise Search is a server side indexing engine and is optimized for running on scalable servers.
