  • I answered my own question.

In order to be able to write from SSIS 2008/2008 R2 into a SQL Server 2012 destination, I need to install the SQL Server 2012 Native Client (SQLNCLI11.1), available on the SQL Server 2012 Feature Pack:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=29065

  • Hi,

Well, that is simple package desgin in which you load data into SQL server 2012 database. Your ole db destination would be SQL 2012 database. The ole db source could be any i.e SQL 2005, 2008/2008R2.

    Thanks, hsbal

  • If you are using SSIS 2008 to write data into SQL 2012, you dont need SQL 2012 Native Client. With SSIS 2008's Native client 10.0 or 10.5 (for SSIS 2008 R2), you can very well load data into SQL server 2012 db.
