Cancel a long-running duplex job? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a WCF service using DuplexClientBase.  It can run for quite a long time on the server (hours).  I have a callback that notifies the user of progress.  This is all working well.  However, sometimes the user wants to cancel the job.  Obviously it would be easy enough to kill the thread on the client side, but I'd prefer something a little more elegant than that.  Is there a good way to send a cancel request to the server?  If so, can you describe how or point me to an example?

    Thanks!

    Brad.
