Office Container - OneDrive and non-persistent VDI issue with KFM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Am currently using Office container in a non-persistent VDI environment. The GPOs have also been configured to

    • Silently move Windows known folders to OneDrive
    • Silently sign in users to the OneDrive sync client with their Windows credentials
    • Prompt users to move Windows known folders to OneDrive

This works well enough without the office container, however in a non-persistent VDI environment the user does not get any additional SharePoint document libraries roam with them - they will need to reconfigure this each time. Therefore have configured the Office container so that this can be roamed with the user, along with Outlook profile and other settings etc.

The issue I find is that with known folder move (KFM), it works the very first time a user logs on as it appears to be in a first-run mode. The client silently signs and and moves their desktop, documents and pictures. On subsequent logons however these folder are not re-directed, the user must manually go to the setting and press the button to back up their files. The silent sign-in works, as well as restoring the OneDrive configuration for SharePoint document libraries to sync, however this last part is quite annoying.

Am wanting to avoid using the full profile container which would roam everything. I am guessing that KFM will simply set the redirection of the folders once, and then to OneDrive this appears set? Without the persistence it does not seem to check again whether this setting is in place
