  • There are lot of links available for SSIS error handling and performance tuning. There are various ways to handle the errors which depends upon the requirement and so it won't be easy to suggest any particular error handling methodology. I am sorry I can only give some pointers.

    SSIS Performance Tuning

Logging and Error handling using event handlers

SSIS data flow task error handling

    Error handling using precedence constraints

  • Test, Test, Test....

Other then that blanket statement for performance tuning, Nitesh provides a good overall selection that should help you out. Develop your own best practices and foster a culture for those in your section.

  • There are various phases throgh which any succesful DW implementation should ideally pass through.

Always profile the data before manipulation is one I would impress upon

There are many which I suppose Nitesh has already mentioned.
