Compiling a Console Application RRS feed

  • Question

I have a console program that opens a text file, does some manipulation, and writes out a file with a different name in the same directory.  I would like to put this file up on our shared file server so others can use it.  Is it possible to compile this program so that it will run on a machine that does not have the Microsoft .NET framework installed?  In other words, can the assembly linker program be run to include the necessary components that are in mscorwks.dll?  As it stands now, a user can invoke the program but they will get the error "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll" is missing.

  • Microsoft does not provide any solution that does what you describe.
