Complex LINQ to Entities Query help needed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to pull an inventory across many stores. the Database is already developed so I can not change that

    I have a series of Chains(Albertsons) each has a series of stores(100 Main) each has an inventory of Items (id,name,quantity, categoryid....) with the quantity and each item has a item category (Produce)

    I have two needs...

    What I want to do is pull a report of all the apples in all the stores.

    And pull the Produce inventory from all stores

    Any help would be greatly appreachiated

  • Hi David;

    Do you have the Linq to Entity Framework designer all set up and if so can you post an image of the tables that is needed to return the wanted information so that table names and properties can be identified.

    You state this, "Chains(Albertsons) each has a series of stores(100 Main", so does that mean that you have a table that is one organization that is related to having many stores that are iidentifiedin another table?

    In your question you state, "What I want to do is pull a report of all the apples in all the stores", does that mean you want one count / number for all the apples in all the stores?

    In your question you state, "And pull the Produce inventory from all stores", do you want this to be a itemized inventory of each store for each Produce item?
