Windows 7 DHCP/ICS? RRS feed

  • Question

  • First, i know this is likely the wrong place to ask, but here goes:

on Windows XP (even in the home edition) when i enable ICS, it sets my other network adapter to be, and even acts as a DNS and DHCP server.

On Windows 7 (Ultimate)  When i enable ICS, It shares the internet, but nothing more. I set my LAN ip to, but it still assigns no IP. so i set a manual IP to my other PC, and its connected to the internet, with no DNS. I ended up using Google DNS combined with manual IP address, But i really don't want to have to do that. Were these features removed?

  • disable ICS  and restart the computer, after restarting Enable ICS again  when it done  you will get DHCP enabling on any computer in your network ,if you use only 2 computers make sure you have crossover  RJ-45 cable . you will see  IP address range  ~~~254

    Primary DNS

use your ISP DNS for 2nd or 3thd  DNS

I hope this post help you
