Live Tiles interaction with apps? start menu on split screen?

    Question

  • Live tiles look like a useful way to push notifications to the user.  However, is it possible for the user to interact with these notifications without haivng to go in to the app? e.g. notify back to the app that the message has been seen or acted upon (and allowing the app to present the next notice).

Windows 8 offers the opportunity to have two apps on display (though  the screen split seems to be fixed - which feels limiting).  However, does this have to be apps only?  I want to go  in to an app and still have the live tile notices available.  So can't  the start screen be one of the screen splits?

I think I want my set up configured to default to keeeping the notification tiles visible whenever I go in to another screen.

    Thanks.

  • Currently, there is not a way for the user to interact with the notification on the Live Tiles.
