  • Question

  • I got MSSQL Server Express 2005 and I got the studio management program for it, is there a way I can pull the raw data of each DB and alter it through the studio management? If so how?

  • Hello,

Yes, manipulating data is done through TSQL commands for SQL Server. These are statements such as SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, MERGE, etc. There is a great beginner site for this that has easy to follow videos that explain concepts in plain english.

  • I would advise to download SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express Client(http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7593) and then you can see both SELECT and EDIT options as highlighted below when you right click on the table. SQL Server 2005 Management Studio gives you the option to just SELECT the records. Best would be to get whole SQL Server 2008 express edition as well.
