Code Editing Problem with Find & Replace (EW2) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use EW2. My problem is that when I use "Find & Replace," the code view returns to the top and I lose my place in the editing.

Does it do this by default? Is there a setting to prevent this?

I've got many big pages to convert from FP formatting and manually returning where I left off is setting me back.

I noticed in the trial of EW3, this returning to the top does not happen.

    Thanks.

  • Before you do the search hit CTRL+F2 to bookmark your current location. Then after searching just hit F2 to return to where you were.

  • Thanks, TB.  Didn't know about the editing bookmark feature.  I'm learning a lot in this transition from FP.  I'd rather have the return be automatic, but short of that, I will pre-mark the various sections, then zip to the most recent one with CTRL+F2.

You will be zipping back to your book marked location with just the F2 key. The CTRL key only need be added when you're creating the bookmark.
