In Visual Studio, we can associate a work item entered in TFS with a commit. Is there a way to do that using Xamarin Studio?

There isn't any standardized way to do this for git since it's is just a VCS, unlike TFS which is an integrated VCS and issue tracking system.

I don't know whether VS Online has a way to do this, but GitHub has special handling for git commit messages that refer to GitHub issues, e.g. "Fixes issue #524".

Good to know. I'll poke around the VS Online api and see if I can do something similar. Thanks Michael!
