HTTP header information is either corrupted or missing RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I am having trouble using merge replication through ISA and SSL.  Merge replication does work inside the company network over HTTP (http://machine.companydomain.net/sqlrepl/sqlcesa35.dll)

SSL Problems - inside the network and through ISA

Inside the company network, Behind the firewalls over HTTPS

IE on the desktop does give the correct result for https://machine.companydomain.net/sqlrepl/sqlsecsa35.dll, however on the emulator, Mobile IE states that 'The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost.  Check the connection and try again later'

Synching the emulator yields the error "A request to send data to the computer running IIS has failed, for more information see HRESULT" which is -2146233087

Through ISA - a different set of errors

Through ISA, we get slightly different results (https://sqlrepl.companydomain.com/sqlrepl/sqlcesa35.dll which after ISA magic goes to the https://machine.companydomain.net/sqlrepl/sqlcesa35.dll )

IE on the desktop displays correctly

Mobile IE on the emulator displays a certificate warning (cert is for *.companydomain.com which should be good?)

Mobile 6 iPaq device IE shows the correct information with no certificate warning

Synching the emulator yields the same error as when inside the network "A request to send data to the computer running IIS has failed, for more information see HRESULT" which is -2146233087

Synching the Mobile 6 iPaq device yields the error "Internal Error: HTTP header inforamiton is either corrupted or missing in the transport message.  It could be a network transmission error or an IIS problem"

Any suggestions as to what to try next?

    Hi,

You should not enable "link translation", infact, you should disable it for this message to not appear. If you are using ISA server, please get the ISA admin to disable "link translation" for you. At least the one single instance where I saw this error message about header corruption, is due to ISA link translation.

Other failures are a bit new to me, and will find out about those, if the ISA solution does not help you. Please let me know if it works or not.

    Thanks

    Udaya

  • Hi,

Are you using Link transaltion on ISA server? Because there are some issues in merge replication/RDA with link-translation in ISA server. The "http header corrupted" message is due to this. Try disabling link translation on ISA. Regarding HTTPS from the device, it should work, did you try on a physical device rather than an emulator?

    Thanks

    Udaya

  • hi udaya,

I know its long time since you replied in the above thread. This is the exact problem that we are facing. Can we get any step by step procedure for enabling this in the ISA Server.

    Thanks

  • NiranjanC - have you found anything with this?  Is it some type of firewall setting or what?
